Sidewood Estate Cellar Door at Maximilian’s

I dropped past Sidewood Estate at Maximilian’s today for a drink as part of the Crush Festival 2019. I remember that last year even in the hot conditions it was pumping and clearly, it’s going to be a very popular winery this year.

Well known as the place you can win big dollars by getting a hole-in-one it’s also a stunning place to chill out and enjoy a drink or two. Maximilian‘s is well set back from the road, and the views down the hill over the vines are beautiful.

As well as a big selection of wines they also have Coopers beer and Sidewood cider, plus if you want to cool right off, you can have a frozen cocktail. For those people needing a pick-me-up, you can also get an espresso martini, and you can buy some of the ingredients here if you want to make one at home :)

There’s plenty on the food menu to cater for all tastes. Perhaps the most innovative menu item from my point of view was the huge slice of watermelon on the kids' menu. That sounds better than a bowl of chips on a warm summers day if you ask me.

The Crush Festival continues tomorrow, and if you can’t make it to Sidewood today, then I definitely put it on your list of stops for tomorrow. And if you are heading out to the wineries tomorrow then why not swing past the Stirling Market on the way - I’ll be doing coffee and granola tastings.
